There is no such thing as "too much RAM".  I don't know what they were
refering to or what was discussed, but they might have been implying that it
is possible to have more RAM than what is necessary. Depending on what you
are using your computer for will be the deciding factor whether to add more
RAM or not. If all you do is surf the internet and send email, run a few
small programs like ICQ, etc..., than you may not need more than 128Mb of
RAM. However, if you are using the computer for graphic designing and using
heavy duty graphic editors, or playing games with heavy graphics, adding
more RAM would not be a bad idea.
