Mike, I have an Epson Stylus Color 600.  I have a paragraph in my manual that
came with the printer that explains what to do if you get an error message
while trying to print.  It calls for changing the default spool directory.  I
imagine the  400 is about the same.  If you don't have the manual, I would be
glad to copy this paragraph and send it to you.
