Jimi, Phillip's suggestion is one of those, "Why didn't I think of it?," ones.

The reason, however, is that you said, "upon booting up, the system doesn't past POST," which, I believe, you corrected later.

"POST" stands for Power On Self Test, which is a little test that the system performs after booting but before examining the
hardware, loading the cmos values, and loading the operating system. When you get to the POST, you should have a few lines on your
monitor that talk about the brand of BIOS and other things. The POST is four or five lines down. So by saying that it doesn't past
POST, you are implying that it at least got to the start of the POST, may have done some or all of the POST, but did not get any
further. In other words, you are implying that your monitor and video card are doing their job up to that point because you can see
characters on the screen.

Now, if nothing at all is showing on your monitor (blank screen), and with the other information given, it most certainly points to
a problem with either the monitor, the cable to the monitor, or, perhaps, one of the connections. If you are lucky, then it is the
cable! :) Try the monitor and cable on another computer, and try a different cable if that is indicated.

Dean

Jimi,
Just a thought, have you tried another monitor? Since you've changed
parts out, I assume you've had to re-connect the monitor which would
probably rule out the cable connection.
