Hi Oleg'
A little info for you and if you would please, forward this to Bill who was helping me with the problem, ( his address is on my 40G drive which I can't get to right now), thanks.
According to the Microsoft Help book for Windows 98, inability to download may be caused by the "index.dat" file somehow getting marked "read only'. One solution is to change the attribute by unchecking the 'read only' box.
Also, through searching the knowledge base at Microsoft, a "negative virtual memory" problem was noted. It is caused by a glitch in Win98 when a drive greater than 32G is used. A fix is available through Microsoft by paying for it, or through your OEM supplier, again, $$$. Microsoft says the problem can be worked around as internally the system sees positive memory, (I don't believe that as my scandisk cannot save its log due to insufficient memory). At any rate,
it boils down to paying up to $100 for the fix.
                           Have a Good day! Alan
