When I attempt to copy files from a cd to my hard drive using Windows
Explorer the computer freezes about a third of the way and I have to reboot
to unfreeze it.

I've thoroughly scandisked and dragged my hard drive. I've change my cd rom
to a new one and I've tried various cd's with no joy.

Can anyone give me and idea of why this is happening? It just started 3
weeks ago and I haven't added any programs or hardware to my computer.

I'm running Windows98 SE on a 20 gig hard drive with 320mb dram.

Thank you,

Michael Murray
