You state that you typed "d:\setup.exe" to install the scanner software. Did
the software instructions state explicityly that this was the location of
the setup files? While this is often true, it isn't always the case. Try
browsing the contents of the CD looking for anything with "setup" or
"install." Often that message ("cannot find file or one of its components")
simply suggests that the path is typed incorrectly. Why your autorun isn't
working is another issue, but I'd have a good look through the CD before you
do anything more drastic.

I received an IBM color flatbed scanner for Christmas which I have
connected to my Gateway 2000 computer and all appears to be well.
However, when I insert the IBM CD which has the scanner software to be
installed on the PC, the CD doesn't autoload or load when I use the RUN
command "d:\setup.exe". I get a message on my monitor that says:
"Cannot find the file d:\setup.exe or one of its components. Make sure
path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are
active."
