Are the sound card and modem PNP devices? If so they should appear in the list
of PNP devices listed by the BIOS at startup.  If they don't they're
probably not
PNP cards. You'll have to use Windows' "Add New Hardware" control panel to
install their drivers.

Check http://www.winfiles.com for any new BIOS upgrades for your Abit board
too.
I just upgraded the BIOS on my Abit TX5 last week with the latest one,
dated 2/26/98.
