Acronis (in 2003) had a utility called
     "Acronis RecoveryExpert Deluxe"
that would search for lost partitions in what would now
"seem to be" un-allocated space.  (Is that what you see?)
They have bundled it into one of their recovery suites now...

Maybe you could ask around locally and find someone with it.

Norton utilities used to be able to do this also, but I have not
used that for this type of problem for years...
