Hi all,

I am contemplating a new Dell PC to go along with the others I have. I have
always had good success with Dell and would not hesitate to go back there.

I am debating the merits of their 8200 vs. 4500 lines. The major difference,
for those not Dell-aware, is that the 8200 series uses Rambus dual-channel
RDRAM and the 4500 series uses DDR SDRAM.

I am leaning to the latter since it should be more easily upgradeable if I
want to increase memory in the future, but this may be a false argument.

Does anyone have experience with either of these models, or for that matter
can anyone advise re the pros and cons of dual channel RDRAM vs. DDR SDRAM?

Many thanks.

Michael
