"A special cable/bracket is needed to go from the MOBO connector to outlet
connecters.
Does the cable come from ASUS or is it generally available?"

---A reply from Kevin ---

I may not be the best person to answer this since I still have not been able
to get my PCI USB card to work, but the connector you need is available at
stores like Fry's, Comp USA, Best Buy(maybe), etc. It is just two ports with
a small cable attached that plugs in to the MOBO.

---- My comments ----

Yes you can get the headers as Kevin stated but depending on the
motherboard you may need more than just the connectors. My previous Rhino
board required a special circuit card between the motherboard and the back
USB connectors. The motherboard manual should tell you this if USB is part
of the motherboard. For that machine I didn't get the special circuit card
since it had to come from the manufacturer and an addon PCI USB card was
cheaper.

"Other than buying the appropriate cable, what do I need to do to get USB
working? And is it easy or hard to set up?"

---A reply from Kevin ---

If everything works as it should, Windows will recognize the new ports and
configure everything. But, things rarely work as they should. ;-) Good
luck.

---- My comments ----

Yes it was easy on my machine too. But remember you may have to enable a
motherboard USB port in the BIOS. BTW, I have had great success in adding
on "junk" to my PC through the USB than with any of the other interfaces
(PCI, parallel, or serial). Windows 98 is definitely better with USB than
95 with MS USB supplement.
