I just use a website: www.ikeepbookmarks.com
It uploads the favorites out onto their site. I can then download the favorites back down to my computer after I've reformated and reinstalled Win.
Actually, you can download the file to any computer you want. You can set your page to allow or disallow others to access your page.
I've used this site for about 4 years. From time to time, I upload my favorites so that if I crash, I don't lose my sites. I can also merge the files I have with what's on line.
