I'm interested in knowing from peoples experience what the maximum distance
between computers(cable length) is on a W95 peer to peer network 10BaseT
using UTP Cat5 Cable. Assuming 4 hubs(non repeater) daisychained together.
What I'm interested in is the max distance from one end of the network to
the other. I understand that the max length of cat5 is 100m. In a situation
where you have 4 hubs would this mean you could have x machines on hub#1
each on a 100m cable, have hub #2 100m away, hubs 3&4 each seperated by a
100m cable and y machines on hub #4 all on 100m cables ????? THis could add
up to about 500m from one end to the other. Or does it mean that max
distance between any two machines on the network is 100m ?
