     In WinFax modem setup, have you tried TAPI modem and/or
port mode? It always worked for me, but I used to loose the
configuration at the drop of a hat... (Back in NetScape v1.12 days...)
That is all fixed in the newer versions and releases (of WinFax).
( 8.03 is the current version.)
