No internet explorer after upgrade to SP2

I have a 2000 mghtz AMD computer with 256 mb of ram and after ungrading or downloading and installing sevice pack 2 I cannot get on the internet any longer. I have cable internet which is hooked up through a router and the other computer in the home still has internet after the upgrade to SP2. I have checked with the cable company and they say that everything is working on their end and they can't help. I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter.
