The biggest problem people are having is getting the right media for their particular brand of burner. The firmware in the burner determines what media it will accept. You might go to Pioneer's site and check their recommended media list or go to cdfreaks.com and check out the forum pages.Their is tons of info on dvd burners, problems, solutions, and lots of good links to other support sites.Generally speaking, Maxell, Memorex, TDK get good reports. Most cheap media does not work well.Hope this helps.
Good Luck
