Greetings again Dean--

By displaying the properties of your network connection, you can highlight the TCP/IP protocol, click properties and you'll see a General and an Alternate Configuration tab. If you click on the Alternate Configuration tab, you can assign IP address, gateway address, subnet mask, etc. I have done this in order to use the scheduling feature of my router. I disallow Internet access at certain times by designating the IP address range and all ports as "blocked" during certain days and hours. In any case, using this properties feature will allow you to assign IP addresses in the network you want to use.
