Have you checked to drive power cable to see if has any output (between black and yellow - 12 volts, between black and red - 5 volts)?  Maybe swap it for another unused plug?  Swapped the ribbon cable?  Tried the drive in another PC?  Does it show up in the BIOS as being present?

  My pc has been working fine for about 2 years now all of a sudden it does not want to boot. I tried changing the CMOS battery but wasn't the problem. It wasn't kicked, moved opened or anything until after the problem began. Front light turns on, fan works and power supply works but harddrive does not turn on, does not spin.
