Isn't that a nasty thing? Had it myself.

You can't do anything here. By default, Win98 creates FAT32 drives
which are unaccessible from DOS6.2. When you boot to dos prompt
from WIndows, it loads MS-DOS8 [I label it 8 because win95 - DOS7]
which recognizes FAT32 with no problem.

The way to solve if you want to boot sometimes: create FAT16 drive and
copy all you want to access from DOS to it. This works - but DOS will only
see that FAT16 volume.
