Hi again folks...

I have been stumbling my way through setting up a small 10/100 network
using Cat 5 UTP and things have been fine so far....now i need to "make"
another cable. There are 4 pairs of twisted wires. when crimping on the
connector, does it matter what order the pairs hook up? or is it fine to
just make sure both ends of the cable are identical? if it doesn't
matter which order, then wouldn't it have to match the other cables going
to the hub??

One other unrelated question.....on my computer at home, amd233, 3.2gig,
32meg, win95B. when i shut down the system it never gives me the go
ahead to shut down. all i get is the "Please Wait" screen and it never
goes further. i wait for awhile till the system is through churning and
i know it's ok to turn it off but it is annoying, to me, to not see the
"ok to turn off" screen. What should i check out?

Thank you very much for any help..
David A. Abbe
