Charles,

I have seen issues with onboard USB not being up to snuff.

Is the device connected directly to the back of the pc( the root), or is it
connected to an external hub?

I had this issue and resolved it by plugging it directly into the back of
the pc instead of via a hub.

Jacob

Subject: [PCBUILD] [Fwd: USB HD]

Hope I am in the right place. Have just installed a WD 200GB hard drive in a
USB box. Both new.
Computer recognizes it as "USB mass storage" How do I format the drive for
use. It now shows up in the device manager with a yellow !. I have tried
removing from device manager, unplugging to reset and
reconnecting. Any help will be appreciated. TIA, Charles E. Avilla
