I have a Compaq DX2300M that will not boot because the system detects that
the Fan is not running. In fact the fan spins and an error is posted just
after the post: Fan cannot be detected. System is shutting down to prevent
the PC from damage. I have disabled the automatic detection of fan in the
CMOS but this does not solve the problem. I even reset the CMOS battery but
to no avail.
