I'm trying to connect my laptop (W2K) to my desktop (Win95) using a direct
cable connection through the parallel ports. To set it up I followed the
instructions on http://www.wown.com/ and as far as I can tell the setup is
okay. The problem is that the moment I actually physically connect the cable
to my desktop machine, it slows down to almost zero response. For example,
if I move the mouse, the cursor reacts after about 5 seconds, and then only
barely moves. Any programs take minutes to respond. Of course there's no way
I can make use of the cable connection as long as this problem continues.
Any ideas?

TIA,
David Landau
