Just some advise on protocols, if you can use ZMODEM, use it,
It is much faster, and if you have Hyperterminal Special Edition(
Free from the makers web site, or a local BBS in your area
if has been uploaded) you can ZMODEM-Crash Recovery, which
 means you don't haveto restart a d/l from start( that is it will pick
 up where you left off). ZMODEM is known for much better
improvement in throughput, than XMODEM.

I personally use it for my modem communicatons to local BBS's
in my area.
