I need help! Last week I upgraded my computer from WIN ME to XP Pro. I of course did not do it properly. ( How timely was Hugh's post on Windows training ) I lost my bookmarks and my address book. That is no big deal . My problem is, now when I boot up it boots to low color resolution (8 bit) I reset it to medium (16) but it goes back to low at next boot! Also I have a U.S. Robotics modem ( Mod. 5699B ) installed
since Jan. 2003 that has a phone call notification that notifies me of a call when I am online and receive a call. This function has stopped working. I reinstalled the modem software but that did not cure it. I went to the U. S. Robotics web site and downloaded a new driver but that didn't help. When a call comes in, the caller hears the ring tone ( call waiting ok. )but the computer does not sense the call. Any help will be very welcome..
