Yes, you can as long as you have at least 64 meg ram. My dad has a m2300 and
it works fine on his.  He still has 98 though.  Make sure with winme all of
your drivers for your sound/video are up to date. I would advise external
for ease of installation via usb, which I know you have.  Internal is
possible, just not for the super faint of heart.
