Dell has an online illustrated 3500 manual at:
<http://support.jp.dell.com/docs/systems/pbldr/>

The 'Removing and Replacing Parts' section is here:
<http://support.jp.dell.com/docs/systems/pbldr/removing.htm>

I recently had to do a complete motherboardectomy on a Dell 8000;
the manual made it a LOT easier.

By the way, I used EBay for parts. Dell wanted a flat $650 each for
the motherboard and keyboard assemblies, plus a couple hundred for
a house call - almost what the computer itself cost. I found a
motherboard for about $100 on EBay and managed to save the original
keyboard. The computer is back up and running fine now.

Good luck,
