I recently bought a PIII Gateway Desktop computer which I upgraded from Win98 to WinXP home edition after installing a higher capacity HDD drive.

However my computer is not as fast as I expected and I decided to upgrade the ram also, from 64MB to 128MB DIMM SDRAMPC100.

I bought a PC100 SDRAM DIMM 128MB RAM memory module from PC World, which I installed in my Desktop.

However, my Desktop does not boot any more with with 128MB memeory module installed but does so with the old 64MB memory module.

Do I need a special memory module to do this. Or do I need to upgrade the Bios also before upgrading the memory?

Regards,

Goodsoon Chipasha
