I have a Jaton PCI video card Cirrus Logic 5434 chipset 2 Megs RAM which
will work as high as 1280 X 1024 256 colors.
This is on my multi boot bench box and I like to run it at 800 X 600 16 bit
color.
I am not interested in performance...just stability and compatibility....so
I always let Windows use it's own drivers. Windows always recognizes the
chip and installs the appropriate driver. This has worked great in NT and
98 but in 95b the driver is behaving strangely.

At 640X480 24 Bit color no problems but if I try to set it at a higher
resolution lower color...800 X 600 16 bit color. It makes the change BUT it
acts like a Linux screen or a 3rd party screen enhancement utility in that
the resolution stays at 640 but the screen EXPANDS beyond the edges ... so
you keep moving your cursor beyond the edges of the screen. I don't like
this when Linux does it and I really don't like it in 95.
I have tried reloading the driver...deleting the card....rebooting and
letting Windows find the card and install the default driver....then
changing to another Windows selected driver...a Diamond driver....but
without success. Anybody seen this before and know how to disable
this <feature >
