  If the scratch can't be fixed with commercial scratch polish ($10 for a
bottle around here) then you might try to copy the \Win98 folder to the hard
drive and running the install from there. Failing that find a friend with a
CD-R burner and make a copy from a good CD.

  MS will also replace media for a modest fee.
