Can I ask which version of Windows you are running the drive under?
The Memorex CRW1622 is sold a Windows 95 drive, not 98. and so sometimes
when a person upgrades to Windows 98 or WindowsME the drive malfunctions..

In this instance the Windows98 hard disk controller driver seem to be the
problem. You need to have at least version 3.1.700 of NTI's software to be
Windows 98 compliant.. BUT if it is a Windows version problem then it wont
be corrected until Microsoft comes out with a fix..
