I'll be building a system around the Intel Server Board SE7505VB2
http://developer.intel.com/design/servers/SE7505VB2/ and wanted to poll for
ideas on setting up a storage sub-system. There are two SATA channels and
the normal two IDE channels. I'll be doing video editing and VHS transfers,
large dataset queries/pivots, and a little strategy gaming (1942
Battlefield, Civilization).

I'm thinking a possible RAID 1 for OS/APPS on the SATA with Raptors and two
120 GB WD SE on one IDE channel. One to pull video from and the other to
render to. The second IDE channel will be for DVD-R and CD-RW. Data backup
storage can go to a DVD-R.

I want the RAID 1 to avoid the potential lengthy process of rebuilding a
dual-boot setup with all the applications, patches, drivers, etc. involved
but maybe someone has a better way.

        Thanks for all the help!
