Hi all,

The machine that I work on (233Mhz MMX running on win 98) has an internal
modem. The mouse is installed on COM1. Under Control Panel -> modems it
shows that the modem is installed in COM3. But under Device Manager it
lists only COM1 and COM2. Why this discrepancy? There is no conflict with
other devices. Furthermore I formated the HD and did a clean install of
win98. This machine previously had win 95 OSR2 and the modem worked
perfectly and was quite fast.

I need the COM port 3 to be listed in Device Manager so that I can change
the Baud rate to a higher setting. Anyone knows how to do it?

The modem is an internal Sierra SQ3485 data/fax/voice modem.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
