Pardon me if this has been answered, I just came back from 10 days vacation.

No, you can not mix s-dram and ddr.  It has to be one or the other.  No they
do not have to be paired.

DDR is currently less than S-DRAM.  If you have S-dram ( 2 notches), it may
be cheaper in the end to buy a 512ddr (1 notch) and sell the 256 s-dram to a
friend or on an auction.  Problem with s-dram is there is hi density and low
density types.

Hi density type, though cheaper than low, will not always read correctly in
all boards.  Boards that are expecting lo density, read the hi density at
1/2 of their real value.  If I had to guess, I would think that you would be
okay because of the age of the board, with either type, hi or low.  For
future use, swicthing to the DDr would make more sense.

hi guys
i would like to add more memory to my pc my mobo is a pavmm2 with  256 mb
the thing i need to know is can i  mix ddr and sdr, do they have to be
paired or can i have say one of each, the mobo has 168-pin x2 and 184 x2
