When the system first starts up, can you get intot he BIOS long enough to
check all setting and hardware monitoring (such as the voltage and the CPU
temperature)?

My first thought was that maybe the heatsink wasn't quite on properly and
this is causing the system to overheat a bit and crash when you try to run
it a 1.67GHz.
