Doug,

You may or may not get it to work. One of the reasons OSR2 was released was
to provide USB support, but to be quite frank about it, it sucks (pardon my
language folks)! I have attempted to install over twenty USB devices in
Windows 95. I don't know if this has to do with specific device drivers or
what, but I only achieved success with one of the devices (an HP scanner).

Windows 98, on the other hand, does great with USB. I had a scanner at home
that I simply could not get to work using USB on Windows 95. I probably put
about 15 to 20 hours in to trying to find a solution, all to no avail. When
I upgraded my home machine to Windows 98, I made another attempt. I don't
think I spent five minutes completing the install and having the scanner
working.

Sooo, I say all that to say this. While some have had excellent success
with USB on 95(B), I wouldn't hold my breath. Give it a try and you may
prove me all wrong (I hope you do). The alternative is to upgrade to
Windows 98, or even (gasp!) Windows 2000. There are actually some
advantages to using 2000' on a mobile system (it is supposed to run faster
and better than 95 or 98 on a laptop), but of course price is the real issue
here. $219.00 for the upgrade and $319.00 for the full version; ouch! But,
I will almost guarantee that your USB device will work with 98'. I hope
this helps.

Kyle
