  Hi John,

thanks to the listers, I just got clarity on that SAME issue only a few
months ago. My case was that the motherboard before BIOS upgrade saw 2.0gb
and after saw 8.0gb. Later motherboards (and BIOSes for that matter) can
read higher drive sizes.

Solutions:
1) EASY: download a disk drive manager for your brand drive OR
2) MODERATE: buy a drive controller for ULTRA IDE devices OR
3) HARD: buy a new motherboard (not so hard to do...means Mo' Money!)
.... these are all assuming that you've downloaded the very latest BIOS
flash upgrade for your system

I'm sure others may have more suggestions, so hang tight and good luck!

Subject: [PCBUILD] Hi from a NEWBIE & HELP!!

Firstly, Hello, I John P, I've been "playing" with computers for a few years
but still learning!

My Problem...... I have just installed a 20Gb HDD in an old computer,
upgraded to Win 98 BUT only 2Gb has been recognised, I've set the CMOS to
the highest settings which shows 8.4Gb! Any suggestions where to go from
here!

Thanks

John P
