If you have a jumper for the on-board video I would disable it and stick in
some sort of "cheap" video card for testing...
Hopefully, Compaq has a "boot" key combo for this problem...

This brings up a different question (for the list) though...
Could anything have been done in advance? If there is no video, and
you don't have a jumper and can't change the BIOS since you can't see it.......

I have a couple MBs with on-board video, and now I'm
wondering...  I have one cheap video card here for emergencies, but as
you have pointed out, it might not be as useful as I had hoped...
