Hi All,
I have been scanning the Web for computer-component data
and prices in an effort to put together a cost-effective
number cruncher (no hi-speed video or games in my plans)
with a 533-MHz or faster Intel Celeron or a 600-MHz AMD
Athlon CPU. However, I am getting confused about which type
of motherboard handles which CPU, along with Chipset
requirements and the specific type of memory required, i.e.,
which chip speed is needed and how to identify the speed
from the alphanumerics on the chips. I plan to use the
cheaper PC100 SDRAM chips.
Does anyone know of any website that publishes data that
correlates the requirements for an integrated system with a
minimum of confusion? I sure would appreciate knowing about
it if one exists.
