By way of clarification:
Yes, I change the source path at the end of my Windows98 installs because if
you install in the "normal" way (i.e. start with a clean hard drive, use a
Windows98 Boot Disk in drive "A:" and put the Windows98 CD in the ROM
drive), Windows will set the source path to the WIN98 folder on your CD-ROM
drive as part of the installation process.  I use the steps I outlined
yesterday to smooth things out after the installation and make life simpler
for the installation of components on down the road.
