See if you can format the disk in the A drive, if so and you can then copy
files then the drive is out of alignment..
I assume you've tried different disks..  Best guess is the drive is going
out.. there are head cleaners for them
but I've rarely had one work good.

More info about our problem. We can read from the A drive but we cannot copy
to or from the A drive. When we try to copy a file to the A drive we get the
blue screen with "DISC WRITE ERROR. Unable to write to disc in drive A: Data
or files may be lost. Press any key to continue".
