I have a problem with my Thinkpad R52. The Ultranav drivers are preventing it from entering standby or hibernate mode. The error message reads

The device driver for the 'ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.

I contacted IBMs support and they told me to update four things, the ultranav driver, the BIOS, the power management software and something called speed step. I still get the same problem.

It's running Windows XP professional, service pack 2.
