My CD Writer died, and I need to get a new one.  I want to get a DVD burner
instead, so I can burn both CDs and start to transfer our home movies over
to DVD, the better to bore everyone with.   All the DVD burners I've seen
so far claim they need 256MB (got it), PIII or higher (got it) and 850MHZ
(don't got it - only have 500MHZ).

Is the speed really essential?  Can I get by with 500MHZ, or will it either
not work or be unbearably slow?  Thanks!
