  Note that since Micropolis went into Chapter 11 a while ago, finding
support for them could be difficult.

  If these are SCSI drives, your SCSI controller may offer a low-level format
option that will do -- Mark's comment above is particularly true for
IDE/EIDE/ATAPI/UDMA drives.
