A stock Gateway 2000 G-6 used unbuffered non-parity 3.3 volt 66 Mhz SDRAM's up to a maximum of 384 Mb. The stock mobo was an LX-440 Intel based job. I had a G-6 233 PII. It could not be upgraded much, so I wound up throwing most of it away. Everything was Gateway proprietary, and nothing else fit in the case. The PS was 230 Watts and only a Gateway would fit. It set me back over $2700 back in 1997. It was a real dinosaur compared to what you can get today for even $299 from Dell.
