Another method in Windows98 is to use MSCONFIG.   Go to: START | RUN
Type in MSCONFIG  [click okay]

Along the top of the window is a row of Tabs, click on the Startup tab and
fine the listing for this program.  Then uncheck the box for it.  This will
disable it no matter where the startup is listed, either in the Startup directory
or in the Registry.  It is quicker and you can also manage what other programs
you wish to have start when Windows boots.
