I am running NT 4.0 for Workgroups on a peer to peer TCP/IP network on a
reasonably fast 686L 200 , 48 megs of Ram, fast Seagate hard drive PC.

This Workstation is on a simple peer to peer network using TCP/IP as a
protocol and there are no proxy servers installed. Any of the other PCs
which are running Win95 can  immediately access  the NT Workstation using
Explorer  but the NT Workstation often takes a long time to access a Win95
PC  with Explorer . This occurs around 50 percent of the time. In fact when
transferring a file from the NT machine to a Win 95 machine I can log on to
the NT Workstation from the Win95 PC and transfer the file while the NT PC
is still trying open a Explorer view to the 95 PC......eventually the NT
Workstation will successfully access the Win 95 PC and then file transfers
etc. proceed at a normal speed.  I have noticed this particularly but not
exclusively when the NT Workstation is logged on to an ISP.

Does any one have any idea why this NT Workstation takes so long to access
other PCs across the network.
