Thank you, Brad. I read the MS article, and indeed it is true. In
Microsoft's infinite wisdom, they decided that the numlock key should be off
whether you want it that way or not. For those not familiar with
NT/Windows2000, the hardware state of the numlock key is independent of the
hardware setting in CMOS. I now feel challenged to change this, but now I
know that it will require system patches to undo what Microsoft did onto us!
Will let you know if I find the way.

article is Q217884, which states that the resetting of the num-lock is by
design in W2K Server, so you seem to be stuck.

Hi Peter, I looked at MS article Q154529, where it states, NOTE: This
article does not apply to Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server. It also does not
apply to Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server running
Terminal Services.. I didn't not find a solution. I didn't look all that
much more, so a more thorough search may reveal a solution for you.
