I just upgraded to XP professional. System now includes Intel Pentium III 866MHz, 256 MB RAM, 120GB HDD. I've upgraded everything except motherboard - coming at a later time. I was having no problems with XP until I added Easy CD Creator version 4.0.1 (an OLD version.) I was aware of the warning that it was incompatible with XP, but only wanted it to read multiple jewel cases I had saved.
After much research, I deleted the program, even "zapped" all files and drivers from my PC, but I still cannot shut down XP. When I select shutdown, my PC gets a stop error:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to be sure y
ou have enough disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your PC, press F8 to select Advanced Startup options, and select Safemode."

I have deleted the drivers. I have enough disk space. I tried to update BIOS, but my processor is retired.
Any help out there will be greatly apprectiated!
