Goran, if I were you, I'd just screw the hard drive to the floor of the
case, and without the plastic mat.

It's not uncommon, particularly on some older computers using the Quantum
Bigfoot drive, to find them fixed in this way.

I'm just now working on a 2 1/2 year old Packard Bell which has the HDD
screwed to the front of the case, where you'd normally expect to find the
case fan, in a vertical position.

You may be able to buy a 3.5" drive mounting kit, which basically consists
of two 'U' channels that you fix onto a floppy or HDD to make it fit into a
5 1/4" drive bay.

You could screw the channels onto your HDD and then glue the channels to the
case floor, if you're not keen to drill holes in your case.
