Hi,

I've had several issues related to this. Specifically networking Win98 with
Win98SE thru the TCP/IP protocol. This has even been true with Direct Cable
connections. Installing NetBEUI was a temporary fix, but ultimately I would
change the TCP/IP version to match all systems in question. I did this by
upgrading all Win98 boxes to Win98SE. Another solution was to use drivers
provided by the NIC OEM even if the file was older. This experience had
given me the impression Win98SE is not backwords compatible with Win98 on
the TCP/IP protocol. Hopefully there's another solution available that
someone else can share.
